I just installed a glide in my mustang. I bought the JW the wheel flexplate JW bell and the crank adapter, I'm reusing my block plate and Ford mini starter, I had to notch the block plate to get the starter to bolt up, now it bolts up but looks like just a little bit of the teeth on the starter are still touching the flexplate, I don't think this is normal, anyone else that has done this swap have this problem?

I have to run shim on mine. It is about the same thickness as the block plate. I guess you could cut up a block plate and make a shim.

So you used the block plate and a shim about the same thickness?

I would say the shim i have is about twice as thick as a block plate. I would try just one see were that gets you. I have seen two block plates ran also.

Thanks for the info. After further investigation (aggravation) I found the problem. The flexplate was rubbing the block plate, a small screwdriver and hammer and the problem is fixed.
