Whew, sure is a lot to digest on this tire thing! So I will ask another question that may seem simple to a lot of you PTRA veterans, but still puzzling to me if a car running a 5:38 gear changes from a 29.5" rear tire to a 32" rear what does that do to his actual or applied ratio?? i.e. quicker time? slower, etc. all other things being equal.

WHEN I WENT DOWN FROM A 14X32 TO A 29.5X10.5 MY CAR PICKED UP BECAUSE IT HAS LESS ROTATING WEIGHT TO TURN. OTHER FOLKS MY HAVE HAD DIFFERENT RESULTS BUT THAT WAS MINE. I WAS STRUGGLING TO GO 6.90'S IN THE HEAT AND WITH THE SMALLER TIRES IT WOULD GO 80'S THEN NO PROBLEM. THERE WAS A GUY THAT TRIED TO TELL ME THAT FOR EVERY 7LBS YOU LOSE FROM ROTATING WEIGHT YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO GAIN 20 H.P. , WHICH I FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE. BUT HE SWEARS BY IT AND HE HAS RAN IHRA PRO STOCK, PRO MOD, AND QUICK 8. I DON'T KNOW WHAT MY GEAR RATIO IS NOW WITH THIS SET UP. BUT IT MIRRORED WHAT YOU WERE ASKING.
